Catfish

The catfish is a fish you catch in ponds. Look for a large shadow. In the northern hemisphere look for it in May – Oct, from 4 PM – 9 AM. Nook's Cranny pays 800 Bells, C.J. pays 1,200 Bells.

A Large pond shadow from late afternoon until morning. Carp share its shadow size, so you may need a few casts in the evening before one bites.
