The snapping turtle is a fish you catch in rivers. Look for a large shadow. In the northern hemisphere look for it in Apr – Oct, from 9 PM – 4 AM. Nook's Cranny pays 5,000 Bells, C.J. pays 7,500 Bells.
A Large river shadow that only bites from 9pm to 4am. It needs no catch count and sells for 5,000 Bells, so late-night river fishing is good money.
