Solemn painting
Solemn painting is a painting based on "Las Meninas" by Diego Velázquez. Jolly Redd sells it from his boat for 4,980 Bells, but it may be a forgery, so check before you buy. Donate the genuine piece to the museum to fill the art gallery.
Velázquez's puzzling scene of the young Spanish princess and her attendants, with the artist at his easel and the king and queen glimpsed in a mirror.
How to spot the forgery
Find the man standing in the bright doorway at the back. In the genuine his arm disappears behind the curtain; on the fake his right arm is lifted in a wave.
