The puffer fish is a fish you catch in the sea. Look for a medium shadow. In the northern hemisphere look for it in Jul – Sep, at any time of day. Nook's Cranny pays 250 Bells, C.J. pays 375 Bells.
A Medium sea shadow around at any hour while in season. It only sells for 250 Bells, unlike the night-only blowfish, which is worth far more.
