Firefly squid
The firefly squid is a sea creature you catch while swimming in the sea (dive where you see bubbles). Look for a tiny shadow. In the northern hemisphere look for it in Mar – Jun, from 9 PM – 4 AM. Nook's Cranny pays 1,400 Bells.
A tiny, slow shadow that only appears from 9pm to 4am. Late-night swims are the only way to find it, but once spotted it is easy to catch.
